Embroider a Little Romance

With Valentine's Day coming up, you may be thinking romance. There are many ways to embroider a little passion. Stitch a miniature romantic design on a collar or sock cuff to feel flirty. Embroider a little something near the hem of his boxer shorts or on the bodice of your nightgown. Trim a pillowcase with heart-shaped lace. How about a favorite saying on the hem of a pillowcase -- whatever you say to signal you are "in the mood"?

Create a special set of placemats and napkins with red, pink or white fabric embellished with hearts or roses. Scatter freestanding lace hearts across the dinner table (or pillow!). A lap quilt is the perfect place to embroider all those heart designs. Finish with heart-themed quilting designs and you will have something romantic to snuggle under while watching a favorite movie.

Stitch a special Valentine by embroidering a design directly on cardstock. You can pre-print the inside sentiments, or write them afterwards for a very personal card. Click here for tips on embroidering in cardstock.

These special items can be used any time of year, for anniversaries, birthdays, or whenever you want to set the mood for love.
