Sorting Designs -- Free Folders!

You have a gazillion designs but can never find the one you need? Get organized. Click here to download a zipped set of folders. Extract these folders to your hard drive (or wherever you save designs). The zip file will appear to contain a single file repeated over and over, but if you extract the entire archive, the folders will magically appear wherever you saved them. You may delete the authorship.txt file in each folder. The folders would not zip unless there was something inside them.

Now, as you download new designs, save into the appropriate folder. In some cases, you may wish to save the design in more than one folder (Redwork and Baby, for example). Only download the format that you will be able to use (to save space), and any informational files (pdfs, txt, jpg) that go with the design, all into the same folder or use a folder just for the informational files.

Remember that you can change the name of any file as you are saving it. You might want to add the name of the website, or change the design name from something cryptic (tnx11) to something more descriptive (tiny_christmas_bells). Anything that will help you to find a design is perfectly okay. Just be careful that you do not use a name for a design you already have in that folder.

The set of folders includes a place for website URLs, tips, project instructions and tutorials. You can change folder names or add more folders as the need arises. After the holidays, spend a little time sorting older designs into the folders.
