Fusible and Tacky |
|
The Floriani brand offers two more types of fibrous water-soluble stabilizer. One is a fusible water-soluble stabilizer called Wet N Gone Fusible® and the other one is a sticky water-soluble stabilizer called Wet N Gone Tacky®. The fabric used and the project will decide if you need regular, fusible or tacky for your project. When stitching on lightweight or sheer fabrics, you’ll want to use a water-soluble stabilizer that has an adhesive simply because those types of fabrics tend to shift a lot and they have to be tacked down in order to get the best possible results. For instance, stitching on 100% cotton netting is a joy but can also be a nightmare as it stretches every which way and will pucker very easily. By sticking it down, we ensure that it will not move during the stitch out. We sure wouldn’t want to have to start over on such an expensive fabric. That's one reason why it’s important to select the right stabilizer for the right project and fabric. Next issue: choosing between fusible and sticky |
