Quilts |
|
Embroidery and quilting go together
beautifully. You can sew your test design squares into a doll quilt for
charity, or embroider a special memory quilt for a family member. Quilts
can be as simple or complicated as you wish. Stitch a small
wall-hanging, a baby quilt, a lap quilt or go crazy and make a bed
quilt. Make quilted accessories such as placemats, appliance covers,
coasters, baby bibs or burp cloths. Embroider the squares with a
tear-away stabilizer, then trim and assemble the quilt top. Use quilting
designs to stitch the layers together, using a thread to match the
fabric for a traditional look or contrasting thread for a bolder look.
Never sewn a quilt before? Join your local quilt guild and you will learn to quilt like a pro! Next issue: types of water-soluble stabilizers from Mary Jane Allen of Perfect Little Stitches |
