Pdf, Txt, Doc and Jpg files

Your embroidery machine reads embroidery files. Common formats are art, dst, hus, jef, pcs, pes, sew, vip and xxx. When you download designs, whether free or purchased, the designs are usually zipped together with non-embroidery files. What do you do with the pdf, txt, doc or jpg files?

The designer usually includes informational files to provide you with suggested thread colors, to explain any special techniques and to give you copyright information. A pdf file is opened with Adobe Reader (pre-installed on your computer). The pdf file is a combination of graphics and text, so all the information is on a single page for you to view on screen or print. A txt file is a very simple text-only file that can be opened with NotePad (pre-installed on your computer). This will contain the same information, but without pictures. A doc file can be opened with Word or WordPad and may include pictures. Jpg files are images that can be opened with any graphics software (most computers include PC Paint).

When you unzip a zipped file, it is like opening the refrigerator door. You can see what is inside. To be able to use a particular file, you must extract it to your computer (like taking milk out of the refrigerator and setting it on the counter). If the zip file includes multiple formats, extract just the embroidery format you need. Also extract the non-embroidery files. These may go into the same folder as the designs or you may have a folder just for informational files. None of these files can be read by your embroidery machine. Do not attempt to send any of these files to your machine, as it may prevent your machine from being able to read the embroidery files. Do save the files, as they often contain useful information.

DOUBLE POCKET CASES 1

At first glance this case looks like any other
case. But when you turn it over there is a
second identical pocket. It has two fully lined,
padded pockets with Velcro closures. It
makes a great little case for small electronics
and their accessories. It could also be used
as a cosmetic case, camera case, first aide
case, or a purse organizer. All made
in the hoop with NO sewing required.
