Freestanding Lace Motifs |
|
Sometimes you want to add some
dimensional interest by using freestanding lace motifs instead of
regular embroidery. It takes just a few stitches to secure a motif, and
you can be sure the placement is exactly where you want it. By leaving
the edges of the design free to move, you create a completely different
look.
The pansies shown above are attached to the neckline with just a few stitches each, allowing the neck opening to stretch over your head. As you move, the flower petals flutter gently. You don't get that with regular embroidery! Next issue: staying cool from Mary Jane Allen of Perfect Little Stitches |
