Classes, Conventions and Conferences

Your local dealer will usually offer free beginner classes when you purchase your machine. Then she tries to sell you more classes. Should you pay the money? Classes are a wonderful way to gain hands-on experience with your machine. Even if the class is lecture style (leave your machine at home), you will learn valuable tips and techniques from an expert.

Conventions and conferences bring together a number of embroidery experts, offering classes and in-person shopping. It is great to meet the designers and to see the designs up close. There are usually a variety of classes for beginners and more advanced stitchers.

Sometimes you are given a goodie bag of free samples, and you might be lucky enough to win a door prize. You will be surprised at the number of cyber-friends you will finally meet face-to-face. You will return home with a new enthusiasm for embroidery.
