Stitch Routing |
|
Stitch Routing is the key to
eliminating jump stitches. This means that if the digitizer carefully
plans the design, many jump stitches can be avoided, which means less
time clipping stitches, and a faster stitch out. When you examine a
design in your embroidery software, check for jump stitches.
In the picture above, the dark thread for the windows stitches first, with the connecting stitches following a path that will later be covered by fill stitches and the outline stitches. The copper roofs also have connecting stitches that blend into the sides of the towers and also will be hidden by the outline. Note that the outline stitches in a continuous path, without jumps. The only thread color with a jump stitch to clip is the blue between the two flags. Next issue: selling embroidered items from Mary Jane Allen of Perfect Little Stitches |
