Thinking Big

You have probably already embroidered several t-shirts and hand towels. Think big. Choose coordinating designs to create a coordinated outfit. Embroider designs on the hem of your pants, the front and back of a shirt, and also the hem of the sleeves. Embroider self-covered buttons for a matching jacket or sweater.

Use a single design and embroider it over and over on fabric, then make curtains, a skirt, pants or dress. You can use the same thread colors each time, or stitch the same design in different colors. Use different fabric colors for a top and skirt, then match the thread color to the other fabric (i.e. a blue skirt with white embroidery and a white top with blue embroidery). Repeat a design to create a border.

Embroider a selection of designs to make a lap quilt. Embroider all the designs with a limited assortment of thread colors to match your decor.

Use the same baby designs on a quilt, diaper bag, burp cloth and bath towel for a special baby gift. Embroider an heirloom baby gown with coordinating designs on sleeves, hem, neckline and bodice.
