What's That Sound? |
|
Each embroidery machine has its own voice. You are already familiar with the way it sings while stitching happily, and you have no doubt heard terrible sounds caused by a broken needle or a thread jam. Learn to hear all the sounds your machine makes. Most machines will slow down for long stitches, which is your signal to stop and clip a jump stitch. There is also a subtle change when the machine needs cleaning or the needle is dull. Any time you hear a new sound, discover what it means. Before long, instead of keeping an eye on your embroidery, you will be able to "keep an ear" on it while you sit nearby reading email or surfing for new embroidery designs.
