A Happy Computer (part 1 - viruses) |
|
To keep your computer happy, keep it clean. Be sure you are using anti-virus software that updates automatically. New viruses are released all the time, so you really need to stay current. Do not open any email that looks suspicious, even if you recognize the sender's email address. Most viruses will pretend to be from someone else -- I have received emails that were supposedly sent from my own email address, but let me assure you that I do not sell pharmaceuticals! If the subject line does not sound right, do not open the email. And never, ever open an attachment unless you know what it is. Viruses can also be spread by visiting certain websites or by downloading infected files. It is important to keep your anti-virus software running all the time. If your software is about to expire, renew it right away. Safe computing will save your computer and will keep you from spreading viruses to others.
